A historic move forward for sexual health as leaders pledge to take action to stop HIV in Latin America and the Caribbean
The first meeting of the ministers of education and health to prevent HIV in Latin America and the Caribbean took place in Mexico City on August 1, 2008. The result is a historic and groundbreaking HIV prevention declaration to promote sexual health and comprehensive sexuality education in schools.

Sexual Health for the Millennium developed by the World Association for Sexual Health
The World Association for Sexual Health has recently completed Sexual Health for the Millennium: A Declaration and Technical Document. The director of PHS, Eli Coleman, PhD, served as the project coordinator and senior editor. The goal of this document is to align sexual health goals with the United Nation's millennium development goals, making the case for sexual health as a critical part of human development. READ MORE

PHS and the Minneapolis Urban League partner to study the sexual behavior of African-American MSM
PHS partnered with the Minneapolis Urban League in a recent study titled B4Real/MN Community PROMISE which examined the sexual behavior of African American men who have sex with men in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area. READ MORE

Eli Coleman, PhD, is celebrating his 30th anniversary at PHS
Eli Coleman, PhD, started at PHS as an intern in 1977, joined the faculty in 1978, and was appointed the program's director in 1991. He now holds the first endowed academic Chair in Sexual Health. READ MORE

Sexual Attitude Reassessment (SAR)
seminar for professionals Sept 12-13, 2008. PHS will partner with the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (ASSECT) to offer a SAR in Minneapolis this fall.
A SAR is a basic requirement for any AASECT certification.

will visit the Twin Cities area Sept 2-5, 2008. The
Trojan
